About Us

Welcome to UtahGunExchange.com, an online classified where Utah residents (and some surrounding states) buy and sell their personal firearms (and a host of other things) for free. Please familiarize yourself with the terms below, as well as our user agreement.

We love Utah, and we love guns. We started this site to fill the void left by another site that was no longer willing to allow private party firearm sales to be listed in their classifieds, so we launched Utah Gun Exchange.com just 6 hours after their retraction.
We are just average guys with regular jobs who want to bring the Utah firearms family together to freely buy and sell their guns and gear in our great state. If you have any questions, feel free to email us. We appreciate your feedback and are working hard to making this website the best place online for Utah gun owners to unite. Be sure to join our forum, our Facebook page, and browse our blog, but most importantly, thanks for visiting! Now tell your friends that you found UGE!

If you are interested in banner advertising and supporting this website, please contact Nick Moyes via email.

Utah Gun Laws

The Utah Department of Public Safety has information available about firearm laws and concealed firearms, with a link to the May 11, 2011 changes to the concealed firearm permit process.  You can also find useful information about concealed firearm permits including a list of certified instructors.

The Utah Concealed Firearm Permit is recognized in several other states.  The Utah Department of Public Safety has a map showing which states recognize the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit.  You can also find details on reciprocity with these states.  The link is here.

A summary of Utah Firearm Laws including references to the Utah Codes can also be found at the Utah Department of Public Safety.

To view the Utah Code governing firearm laws visit the Utah State Legislature Title 53 Public Safety Code, and Title 76 Chapter 10 sections 501-530.

ARE YOU CHARGING FOR AD’S NOW!!…NO FREE ONES….I PUT A AD ON NOW IT WANTS ME TO PAY1.50 FOR AD…I HAVE NO PAYPAL..ACCOUNT.

    • Bill, no need to shout.

Read the directions a little more carefully when listing…
      We only charge businesses $1.50
Individuals can, and will always list for free. (As long as folks keep clicking on banner ads that is ;-)

  3. Perhaps I went stupid or something, but the link to edit and ad had either gone missing or been moved?

  4. Love your website!

You really need to update your info though: At the bottom of each listing, you have a yellow box with a bold NOTE stating: “Under Federal law, you may not sell a firearm to a person who is not a resident of Utah in a private party transaction (meaning without a Federal Firearms License).”

THIS IS INCORRECT! IF you reference your own link, you will note: A person who wishes to purchase a HANDGUN must show proof of Utah residency.

A person who wishes to purchase a RIFLE OR SHOTGUN is not required to show Utah residency; however, the purchaser will be required to comply with the laws of the state in which he/she resides.

    • We’ve had many a user send us this…but you are incorrect. “A person who wishes to purchase a RIFLE OR SHOTGUN is not required to show Utah residency; however, the purchaser will be required to comply with the laws of the state in which he/she resides.” This is true ONLY when purchasing a firearm from an FFL within Utah. It DOES NOT apply when selling private party. YOU CANNOT SELL a firearm to a resident of another state with out involving an FFL. PERIOD. You are committing a felony otherwise and ATF will send you to jail. BCI is talking about Utah law that allows FFLs to sell long guns to residents of other states that are visiting Utah, but you, as a Utah resident/non-Federal Firearm Licensee are not allowed to sell to a resident of another state, besides your own, no matter what kind of firearm it is, without involving an FFL. Your CFP instructor should have discussed this in their class…

Again, you cannot purchase or sell ANY kind of firearm from out of state or to another state’s resident without going through an FFL. Period. No one can, it’s against the law. 5. Nick, I really appreciate what you guys are doing with this site. I was disappointed that the news-affiliated other site joined the anti-gun frenzy and stopped allowing firearms adds. I have sold several guns on your site (all to Utah residents, of course) and thank you for your service.

  6. Your new site sucks

  10. Can these peoples accounts get suspended or deleted? I like this website to see what is for sale and possibly sell my own stuff. But these people crying and posting is really starting to ruin a good site.
