Description
Cold Steel AK-47 Field Knife Fixed CPM-3V w/ Custom Leather Sheath
I have available my Cold Steel AK-47 Field Knife with a Custom Leather Sheath. This knife is in new condition, having only being used for the making of the sheath. As with many of the knives I have sought out over the years this is one that is very close to being that all-purpose, all-around, do it all knife.
The handle gives a sense of confidence and security fitting most any size of hand. The blade steel is among some of the best offered today and is ridiculously sharp out of the box.
Also included is a Custom Leather Sheath that is “hand cut” & “hand sewn” using a saddle stitch for increased strength and durability. The leather is 8-10 oz. Full Grain Leather that has a dyed finish and treated with Sno-Seal for longevity and protection. The knife is held in place with a leather retaining strap and secured with a button stud.
There are grommets strategically placed for multiple carry positions, and a belt loop that will easily accommodate a 3” belt making it very versatile.
An excellent knife for everyday carry, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, military, law enforcement, or just about any outdoor activity.
The following is from the manufacturer, and I have put information regarding the blade steel towards the bottom of the spec.
Specifications.
Designer: Andrew Demko

Sheath: Secure-Ex Sheath
Handle: OD Green G10 (4.875″)
Overall: 10.375″
Blade Thickness: 5.0 mm
Blade Length: 5.50″
Steel: CPM-3V High Carbon Tool Steel
CPM 3V offers substantial improvements in tool wear life when compared with conventional tool steels such as A2 and D2. CPM 3V’s high vanadium content offers wear resistance like M2 high speed steel. Machinability in the annealed condition is like D2 and Cru-Wear.
3V is one of the toughest steels out there, second only to S7 (maybe 5160) and about equal to INFI, S35VN will be an adequate toughness (S30V is used in many larger blades, and S35VN is supposed to be like 30% tougher, 3V would be like 300% more)
